0403Rather more work than expected for this customer owned Model A Ford.  New spring shackles and brake linings were needed, along with new oils all round, rebuild steering and shock absorbers.  Very clever downdraugt SU carburettors fitted on this car.  Much painting and a repair of a big crack in the chassis.

We are pleased to say the test drive was great fun, and this car is quite Phenomenal!  We delivered the car back to the customer as part of the service.  We hope the owner has a huge amount of fun in the mud at the VSCC Derbyshire Trial.

meashamnightrallyTip Top Engineering prepared two cars for this years Measham night rally which covered 180 miles on minor roads starting from Thirsk in North Yorkshire.  We are pleased to report that our own "works" Chrysler 70 Sports Coupe won a First Class Award, thanks especially due to the navigator Julian Taylor, who took the weekend off from his deep button Vintage car upholstery business.  The Chrysler performed well, with lots of spare horsepower to hand, and the rally was superbly organised and great fun.

ACrearaxleThe AC rear axle is now finished.  A monumental rebuild salvaging an almost scrap transaxle casing.  Both aluminium hoops had snapped off in the common AC fashion. Tip Top Engineering made a new aluminium cage to bolt in to carry the brand new worm and wheel sourced in Huddersfield.  High tensile aluminium, double thickness, large corner radii, 12 bolts to attach.  The lubrication of these assemblies needs to be thoroughly understood too; see the sealant across the middle bridge.

lagondaThe Lagonda Rapier Special is now fully commissioned, and ready for competition.
Two stage supercharged, this is a proper pocket rocket, but who will be brave enough to drive it?
