Warming up ERA R4D at SilverstoneTip Top Engineering have an outstanding record of prewar competition car preparation, demonstrated by the dominance of the Frazer Nash single seater, also known as Norris II and of James's outstanding success in various ERA cars.  The Frazer Nash was the first ever car to own every Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC)speed event record, and what's more they were all held at the same time for the first time in VSCC history.  Seeking more competition James sold the car and started the exercise again this time in an ERA, aiming to claim his own records in a second car.  Today James still owns every Hillclimb record, now split between Frazer Nash and ERA.

preparation2Tip Top Engineering prepare all kinds of cars simply for road use and personal enjoyment or cars for foreign travel such as the legendary Frazer Nash raids.  See our Projects Gallery for some examples.  Of course we also prepare cars for competitive hillclimbing and/or racing.  James has competed in Le Jogs, Monte Carlo Rallies, Liege-Istanbul-Liege, Classic Le Mans, Goodwood Revival, and every VSCC event,  so we do have experience on which you can rely.

We pride ourselves on thorough preparation and attention to detail.   Vintage and prewar cars need experience and understanding to both preserve and make them last, but also to make them perform as the original designers intended.

Every day we are learning and expanding our knowledge, while we keep an open mind of new technologies available to the prewar motor engineering trade.

We love working on Frazer Nashes and ERAs and other familiar makes mentioned and shown in our gallery, but we also like a challenge of a less familiar motorcar.  Please phone or email for a discussion about your requirements.
