Tip Top Engineering have supplied over 250 crankshaft dampers for many applications, including vintage, prewar and post war cars. Six cylinder engines MUST have a damper and four cylinder engines see benefits too. The only damper principle suitable for such applications is a viscous fluid damper, which is why this is the only damper type we sell.
The damper can prevent the crankshaft breakage, but it will extended engine bearing life in every application.
Rubber and elastomer dampers degrade with time, which is a fact of life. Viscous dampers are the only solution.
